Throughout her career, Lisa has worked for multiple stables specializing in young horses, beginner riders and horse/rider behavioral issues. She has also worked hand in hand with trainers on reining and dressage. In 2003 Lisa built Bit of Success Stable and ran the business for several years. Bit of Success offered many students foundational training in horsemanship and equitation.

Lisa developed a love for horses early while growing up in Colorado riding horses and working cattle. She moved to St. Joseph, Michigan in 1983.
She and husband Rich have been married 27 years and have two adult sons Greg and Dan and an adult daughter Lauren who is also an accomplished equestrian specializing in dressage.
In 2011 Lisa chose to take some time to focus on her family and to enjoy time with her reining stallion Flash. Lisa is passionate about the community and believes that true success comes from partnership.
